Dear VCA Families,

We’ve just about made it to the end of another school year. This year has been like non other for a number of reasons, but primarily for the Covid 19 pandemic and Stay at Home Order, which resulted in VCA closing it’s physical doors. Thank you all for accepting the challenge of becoming parent/guardian, teacher, all while many were still working as usual. Congrats to you for closing out the school year and being diligent with blended learning, taking attendance daily and supporting your child with assignments!

It is time for you to submit student work as well as pick up your child’s belongings.

Operation Drop off/Pick Up
On Friday, May 22, from 9:30 am – 12:30, parents and guardian will come to VCA West to drop off their child’s school work, laptop, and pick up their personal belongings. For the safety of all, drop off/pick up will take place on the West parking lot in a carpool fashion. VCA staff members will be available to speed this process along and assist you. Please remain in your vehicle until a staff member assists you. If you are unable to make it on May 22, please mail student work to 6021 W Lincoln Ave. West Allis, WI 53219 and ensure it arrives by May 28th.

May 26 – 28 Student Choice Week
Although packets will be submitted on May 22, school is in session until May 28, which is the last day of school. We would like parents to continue to take attendance May 26 – 28 as school is in session. Teachers will be sending more information about the last week of school “Student Choice Week”. Under each teacher’s discretion, students will be completing reflections and completing virtual assignments. Please connect with your respective child’s teacher.

Grades K4 – 9 Report Card

  • Pass or Fail
  • Student would receive a P or F for trimester 3
  • No teacher comments

  • Grade K4 – 9 will be promoted as usual and will not be retained as a result of the pandemic. Teachers are recommending student retention for students based on their progress/work performance while in our care during the regular school year, Aug 2019 – March 12, 2020. Teachers are and will continue to reach out to parents as necessary.
  • Grade 9 – Due to the credit requirement, students in grade 9 are encouraged to earn a Pass. However, in the event he/she earns a Fail, the student would need to retake the course to earn credits at another time. It is wise to complete assigned work now in order to earn a Pass.

As some of you may have heard, our sweet 6th grade student, Jayla Christina Rodriquez, has entered GOD’s loving arms.
